Other United States and Canada visitors dominate those vacationing in Florida this year, up from 58.58 million in the first half of 2018 to 61.2 million visitors in the first half of 2019. A detailed report shows that the number of Canadian visitors increased from 2.33 million in 2018 to 2.4 million from January to June this year. The increase comes as a result of marketing and special discount travel programs specifically for Canadians after their visiting numbers dropped by 5.4% in 2015 and 11.9% in 2016.
Irrespective of the increasing visits from the United States and Canada, Florida seems to be witnessing a drop with its overseas vacationers. The number of overseas visitors, with the United Kingdom, Brazil, Argentina and Colombia topping the charts as of now, is projected to be about 5.2 million in the first half of 2019, while it was 5.3 million in the first half of 2018.
